"Counsel to those who
mind their own business"

While disputes are inevitable, litigation is not. Lawsuits are expensive and often unsatisfying. Parties have recognized and most courts encourage mediation and alternate forms of dispute resolution as an excellent opportunity to resolve quickly and perhaps quietly.

The role of a mediator is to create an environment in which the parties can come to an agreement that is acceptable and enforceable. The role of a party's attorney in mediation is to assist the client by thorough preparation, active listening and attentive support throughout the discussions with the other party.

I am listed as a General Civil Mediator pursuant to Rule 31 of the Tennessee Supreme Court, signifying more than forty (40) hours of training and periodic recertification. Focusing on collaborative mediation and whether serving as mediator or attorney to a party, my goal is to encourage an efficient, effective, enforceable and ultimately satisfying conclusion to an unfortunate problem.
